lem·on | ˈlemən/ | noun: a person or thing, especially an automobile, regarded as unsatisfactory, disappointing, or feeble.
I am NOT a lemon! My body is not a lemon.
In her book, "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth", Ina uses this analogy, and takes it even further to say, "The Creator is not a careless mechanic." I couldn't agree more! While she is referring to the birthing process, this can be applied to any area of our lives - our body, mind and spirit.
We are designed so intricately! Our bodies are remarkable. And yes, sometimes they may get out of line. But instead of allowing our bodies to stay out of alignment and start trash-talking ourselves, we need to get with our Mechanic-Creator and command our bodies to get back in line.
Proverbs 18:20-21 says, "From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."
What fruit is on your tongue? Are you speaking life or death over yourself?
For years, I have said horrible things about my body - about both how it looks and how it functions. I have called myself fat, ugly and disgusting. I have said my body is infertile, irregular, incapable, unhealthy.
NO MORE!
"Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5b)
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:2)
Take EVERY thought captive! Transform your mind!
I am not a lemon.
My Creator is not a careless mechanic.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." (Psalm 139:14-16)

PS...Lemons are my favorite citrus fruit! Lemon is part of my daily diet! Sorry to this healthy fruit that it have been given a bad name. But really, I appreciate it because I can be reminded on a daily basis...every time I pull a lemon out of a the fridge, every time I squeeze a little into my water, I am reminded, "I am not a lemon". :)
